Calendar Clerk

A calendar clerk performs all clerical tasks that surround the scheduling of court proceedings, he tracks all notices ensuring that they have been issued as ordered by the judge. Also, as activities are placed on the calendar, he tracks all relevant information, following court guidelines.

A calendar clerk must organize the attorney’s schedule practically and efficiently, he needs to be on top of any upcoming events such as mediations, arbitrations, independent medical examinations, CourtCalls, depositions, trials, minor comp hearings, he also has to confirm availability with all parties, e-file all the pertinent documents timely, and constantly check the court docket looking for any changes.

The workload of a calendar clerk will depend on the number of active cases that the firm has. He has to receive and review all incoming mail to ensure all dates are being calendared, process calendar requests from attorneys and secretaries, file all pertinent documents, and so on.
