Records Clerk

The records clerk will work in coordination with the case manager to request and organize the client’s medical records and bills, medical history, employment records, police reports… and submit all that information into the firm’s software.

This role can be seen as a case manager assistant and will directly depend on the number of active cases that the firm has. During an 8-hours shift, the records clerk will have to go throughout the client’s medical treatment, collect the medical records, bills, and lost wages for the client and keep them in their file with proper identification.

Importance of the role

Personal injury cases can take many years to settle, and in that time the client can go to dozens of medical centers to get treated for his injuries, medical bills and medical reports can easily get lost or forgotten, which will severely impact the settlement negotiations and the overall results of the case. A records clerk will make sure that the files are completely accurate and up-to-date so that the case manager and the litigation team can correctly assess the case.
